DIY Gender Reveal Pull String Piñata

11:26 AM

This is such an adorable and easy DIY. The girls thought it was so much fun. It's definitely a cute and interactive way for your children to find out the gender of their new baby sister or brother.

All you need is listed below
Lantern
(We purchased ours at Target. They have a huge selection of colors to choose from.)
Pink and Blue Crepe Paper
String
Glue

Start off by cutting each color of crepe paper 3/4 of the way through to create fringe

Glue the edges and alternate colors. I wanted a bit of the gold lantern to show through so I left some space in-between.
(Tip: Make sure you know the top from the bottom so that your fringe is going in the right direction.)

Make the confetti. We didn't know what we were having yet so we had both colors on deck.

Next you will need to make a kind of plug that will pull out easily when the ribbon is tugged. I used a very thin type of cardboard. Cut little slits all around the edges so that it will release easily. Poke 2 holes to string the ribbon through. If you have more than 2 kids add more ribbon holes because you know they will all want their own ribbon to pull! :D

Lastly, you will pop the cardboard in the bottom and your Piñata is ready to be filled.
