Candy Cane Play-dough7:04 PM
For Liv's classmates we made them this cute candy cane play dough all packaged up in cute Christmas fabric. I just love the way it looked in those adorable little mason jars.
Here is the tutorial:
•5 cups water
•5 cups flour
•2 1/2 cups salt
•3 Tablespoons cream of tartar
•10 Tablespoons vegetable oil
I added a little bit of peppermint extract!
Mix water, salt, cream of tartar, and food coloring. Cook on low heat, stirring regularly. Add oil, then flour. Stir until play dough pulls away from pan and is no longer sticky. Put the dough on the counter to cool and then knead. The more you knead the smoother it gets. At this point I added some glitter.
This recipe makes a lot! And since I didn't want a TON of play dough laying around I cut the recipe in half. Half without food coloring, for the white and the other batch with the red food coloring.
I picked up these super cute little mason jars at the store and used Christmas fabric to decorate the lids. For the tags I used my cricut on some Christmas paper. And that's all! So flippin cute :D
